Weather Together | #tgifc61

Hi everyone!

So glad you dropped by because this is one of my favourite monthly challenges at TGIF Challenge Blog.  I love being inspired by others and its nice to 'force' each other to do that.

This month I am inspired by a challenged named Jen Guarino on #tgifc59.  I loved how she entered the sketch challenge - this time, I did the same!

Weather Together is such a beautiful set.  The font is lovely and the hand drawn images are lovely.

I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to create or play with my new product since my unboxing. Using the new product felt so nice - I can't wait to get back to it.  But it will have to wait until this mini vacation is over.

Until then, play along with us! Did we inspire you this month?

You Rock | Fancy Friday

It's a theme.

An 80s theme.

Ouch.

I really thought the 80s theme this month would be quite easy.  Being born in 1981, it wasn't completely out of my jurisdiction.  Words like "welcome to the jungle", slouchy socks, Hangin' Tough, purple eyeshadows, etc - I also saw triangles and lightning bolts.

But guess what?

I couldn't turn that inspiration into anything at all.  All I saw was this photo taken eight years ago at an Eighties party that I hosted.  My sister is wearing a dress, that I pretty much adore... but I am wearing.. well.. something awful.

Moving on from that terrible photo.

I pictured colour blocking with some triangles.  While, I played with a card, I played around making a tag.  This is something I tend to do a lot.  I use my scraps as I go.

I still don't like these projects too much but I think its because a) the 80s style just isn't fitting with my clean style lately and b) black and pink is too loud for me.

Now don't forget that you have until the end of the month to win the Watercolour Wishes card kit at the Creative Scrapbooker blog - so check that out ASAP!

Now - go check out Connie.  She will blow your mind!! (Maybe she has lightning bolts?)

PS. You Rock.

A Stampin' Up! Unboxing | Episode 001

I got a box.

A Stampin' Up! box.

It contains my first order from the fresh 2016-17 Stampin' Up! catalog.

"Mom. When are we doing another video?"
"Lets do an unboxing!"
"Yes!"

I finally have my tripod set up and everything ready to go again in my short YouTube hiatus...

But no amount of set up can remind you to turn the camera in the right direction.  I have to flip some of this video but you still get the picture.

Enjoy and I'll do better next time!

toadally awesome | #tgifc59

Another project using the You're Sublime stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Clearly, this stamp set is "toadally awesome".
Hardee-Har.

Note: Although the stamp set remains current, the paper comes from the Cherry on Top paper stack that just recently retired. (oops.  the one time I do things in advance...)

I turned this sketch sideways and ran with it.  I am "toadally" loving this green.  :) You gotta love me.

Play with us this week at TGIF Challenges - you have until June 17th!

friends forever | Simple Scrapper

Awww, one of my best friends. Miss Aoife.

Like many of my friends, we don't see each other as often as we'd like - it seems that this is just the way life is.  As time goes by, we call and go out to dinner to catch up. It runs in cycle but typically doesn't run over a month.  We always pick up where we left off. She's more than a bestie.  She's an 'Auntie' to my kids.

So, when Canada Day came all those years ago and we received a call that her brother, Neil, was in a major car accident, we were all there. Waiting and praying. He later passed away but he will never be forgotten.

And do you know why?  It's because on the following Canada Day, she made a decision to celebrate his life in a way that he would be thrilled about - a soccer tournament and some drinks with friends and family.  No matter how much time has gone by, we know exactly where to be on Canada Day. With her alongside her many friends and family - celebrating the life of Neil.

She's a forever friend.  The kind of friend that you would do anything for because you know she'd do the same.

This layout was created with paper from the Pink Fresh Documented collection.  There is a glassine bag behind the photo when I am ready to journal this picture and event. (Perhaps I just did above)

Thanks for dropping by!

My Sister and I | Simple Scrapper June 2016

This layout was created about a year later than when it was taken.  Its funny how I feel like we are having the same conversation and connection one year later.

We are sisters.
But also best friends.
We look similar and have
similar interests.
We have kids around the same
age that enjoy each others company.
We are always trying to be supportive in our journey to a healthier life.
Through thick and thin,
we are there.
I am so lucky to have a sister
that loves me the way she does.
I am so glad that she
lives close by and we can
enjoy each other’s company in a blink
of an eye.
She is my sister and she’s my rock.

have a snappy day | #tgifc58

The challenge this week is a colour challenge at TGIF Challenges!

I always love the colour challenges because you can always colour your way into inspiration.  And that's what I did!  This cute little guy is from the You're Sublime stamp set - which I am thrilled is back again!

Make sure to play along with us every week!
