It's a theme.
An 80s theme.
Ouch.
I really thought the 80s theme this month would be quite easy. Being born in 1981, it wasn't completely out of my jurisdiction. Words like "welcome to the jungle", slouchy socks, Hangin' Tough, purple eyeshadows, etc - I also saw triangles and lightning bolts.
But guess what?
I couldn't turn that inspiration into anything at all. All I saw was this photo taken eight years ago at an Eighties party that I hosted. My sister is wearing a dress, that I pretty much adore... but I am wearing.. well.. something awful.
Moving on from that terrible photo.
I pictured colour blocking with some triangles. While, I played with a card, I played around making a tag. This is something I tend to do a lot. I use my scraps as I go.
I still don't like these projects too much but I think its because a) the 80s style just isn't fitting with my clean style lately and b) black and pink is too loud for me.
Now don't forget that you have until the end of the month to win the Watercolour Wishes card kit at the Creative Scrapbooker blog - so check that out ASAP!
That photo just cracks me up. You pretty much perfected 80s style, lol! And your projects are such fun! I love you stretching into these colors....they are awesome here!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! You nailed the graphic mixed with the gold and all the black, white and pink patterns.
ReplyDeleteSo - I have to send you this pic I have of me from an 80s party a few years ago. We could almost be twinsies! LOVE your projects - so totally 80s!
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not trilled to now have Hangin' Tough in my head on a loop...I love the projects. And appreciate the idea to use those small scraps!!
