Meet the New In Colours by Stampin' Up! | Be Inspired Blog Hop

Today the Be Inspired Blog Hop team is highlighting the brand new 2019-2020 In Colours!

I was so thankful for this challenge because I haven't had a chance to play around with the in colours since the new Stampin' Up! catalogue launched in June.

These are simple cards using the 6 x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack. For each colour, I selected a pattern and cut it down to 6 x 3.5". Then using my scrap bits I cut it down to 4 x 2.5' and 0.75 x 2.5". The sentiment coems from A Good Man stamp set which was stamped onto the smallest Stitched rectangle die

Now our family has a little annoucement! You may have noticed a little bit of white noise around this blog and my social media accounts lately.... We are almost 15 weeks pregnant! I've been really quite unwell and of course really tired. I am looking forward to a more crafty second trimester!

Thanks so much for dropping by! Be sure to keeping hopping along to my west cost friend Carolynn Sander!

Until next time, Cathy

#WKNDZ | Simple Scrapper SPARK Magazine

I am scratching my head trying to remember which embellishment die cut pack I used to create this layout. Regardless, this is an example of how using a good chunk of a pack can feel awesome. Break those hoarding habits!!

This layout was created for the MAY 2019 SPARK magazine exclusively developed for the online Simple Scrapper community. Within the community we are provided with sketches and journal prompts in order to help inspire members.

April 2016 In Review | Simple Scrapper SPARK Magazine

For the past few years I have started doing monthly review pages in my album. Essentially for me, its taking the pressure off to finish complete layouts for every single life event. These are still picture I WANT to share in my album but time is not on my side. Typically my monthly review pages look like pocket pages; however, as I have been filling the gaps from my chronological scrapbooks they may look like this.

You may be thinking.... shes scrapbooking tiny events from 3 years ago.
Yes. Yes I am.
So how can you remember the details?
I can't really.
But I use my journalling from my Facebook Pages to jog my memory and often quite literally copy and paste.

Here's a look at what it looks like in the album:

Inspired by Paige Evans. | Simple Scrapper SPARK Magazine

When I ran across this die cut silhouette style white page designed by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee, I had to have it. I quickly selected a raibow 12x12 sheet of patterned paper that would lay behind. Just that was enough to pull this page together.  My biggest trouble was developing a way to make the 12x12 die cut become 8.5x11". To smooth the edge, I sewed a distressed piece of patterned paper. It did the trick. Finally, I used Ali Edwards Grow kit embellishments and Details story kit acrylic word to finish it off.

Check out the dimension of this page...
And yes, this is hanging on my wall in a shadow box rather than in an album for the moment.

Dear Jack.

And you are six.
Six years old and you proudly announce you have two girlfriends.
Six years old with the cutest freckled cheeks that smooch your eye balls when you smile.
Six years old and you never skip an opportunity to get what you want.
Not a lover of all humans.
Nor a lover of anyone singing.
You 'sloth-ily' slide out of bed every morning with vampire whines of light in your eyes.
For you, every day your goal is to either play with your toys or get new toys.
You can be a tough nut to crack.
When someone finds their way into your heart, you don't forget and you definitely don't mind telling someone that "they are fired".
You like to do things your way on your time.
Today is your birthday and you got it your way, starting with vanilla cake for breakfast.
You smiled like a lot today proudly announcing your are six!
Your happy is pretty amazing.
You love to jump up in the air with your fists high and finish it off with a little dance.
If only we could all have that sort of happy.
I worry about you a lot.
Way too much actually.
Just last week you told me 'not to worry' as you could most definitely handle carrying the oversized bag with your Halloween costume into school.
I am learning that you aren't 'sensitive'.
You just wear your heart on your sleeve.
And well, I hope you always do.
Love hard and play hard Jack Caines.
Here's to an amazing Year Six.
Happy 6th Birthday,
Love Mom.

This layout was created just for me. The words were already documented on my facebook status on the day of his birthday so it was just a matter of putting the layout together after the fact. I love using Facebook as a "holding place" for memories.
