#fancyfridaytopfivepicks | Fancy Friday Blog Hop

We have an exciting hop for you this month where we are showing you our favourite new products in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog released at the beginning of this month.
I can honestly tell you that while I have a NUMBER ONE, there were too many of my favourites to list. So, I kept it simple for you.  I included a stamp set, a big shot item and some embellishments! While the Stitched Shapes are not brand new, its the first time they are in a catalog so I made up my own rules on that one.

What's my number one must have item in the new catalog? Hands down. The sequins. They are special because of the shine on them and the variety of sizes.  They were exactly what I was looking for when I simply couldn't find them.

With that said, some items that I use regularly are pearls, doilies, and the fine tip glue pen... whisper white paper... aqua painters... Stampin' Write markers... the list goes on!

Today's card uses all of my top five items.  The black shimmer ribbon matches perfectly with the gold glimmer paper as it seems to have drops of gold in it.  Add the gold, white, silver and black sequins creates a deadly combination.  As always, I need some white... and to my surprise I didn't use white on the card front so as to soften the sharp-ness of the black and white.  The pine plank embossing folder is a must have item in your craft stash!

Thanks for dropping by but before you go make sure to check out the inside of the card so that you can truly see why I love the Magical Mermaid stamp set.  I adore the font pairings of this set.  Its the full package as I can colour the mermaid (it's coming soon!) too!

I honestly can't wait to see what my fancy fridays have in their top five.  I'd love to hear what your top five is - just use the hashtag #fancyfridaytopfivepicks in your social media so we can check them out!  In the mean time, you'll have to see what my amazing friend Cindy has on her top five list!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous | Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

"forever young"
I love that sentiment.
At 35, I feel forever young...
...and then I go to a U2 concert and my leg cramps up when I march to the washroom.

Regardless, this sentiment caught my eye in the Happy Birthday Gorgeous polymer bundle to pair with the Happy Birthday Thinlets die.

I started out with making a simple card with a watercoloured wash using Berry Burst ink.
I simply fell in love.

My style is for certain clean and simple.
However, I wanted to do something more on a second card as I continued to play with this bundle. I wanted to use the floral images on the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.  This time I cut out a circle with the Layering Circle Framelits out of computer paper in order to do a masking technique.

Why computer paper?  Computer paper is much thinner than cardstock and can ensure that the stamped images around the perimeter of the circle are crisp.

And just like that you can get a perfect circle of hap hazard stamped images.  The colour combination I used was simply through the subtles ink collection in addition to berry burst ink.

I added Pearl Basic Jewels to embellish the flowers and this card is complete. A layer of burlap ribbon under the "forever young" sentiment was a perfect touch to finish off the card.

If you don't have this bundle on your wish list, you'll be sure to have it there when you finish this Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team hop.  This group of 20 girls will sure to blow your socks off.

As always, I am so happy you dropped by!
Be sure to check out Dani's project next. She will be sure to wow you!

May all your tomorrows be as happy as today | Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Well darlings, I am feeling the beginning of wedding season as I jet set off to Cancun, Mexico to enjoy a family wedding.

In the past week, I've made six wedding cards.

Despite the cold weather outside...
(that's right, Newfoundland has hit record low temperatures for the past two days)
... it's a sure sign that the Summer nuptial season is here.

This stamp set comes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and is the perfect sentiment for a couple on their wedding day.

The Colorful Seasons stamp set is a brand new set released by Stampin' Up! today as part of their 2017-18 Annual Catalogue. The sentiments and images of this set are gorgeous and its a must have item.

The floral stamps of this card comes from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I tend to use this set quite often as I love the mix of big and small florals and big and small leaves.

The How To: // To colour this card I used the stampin' ink refills in the colours of: Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Old Olive, Lemon Lime and Melon Mambo.  I dipped my Aqua Painter in the ink and brushed the images with the water.

Thanks so much for dropping by today  - make sure to get yourself a catalogue and get those orders placed to begin playing with the new products available today.

"May all your tomorrows be as happy as today".

Dani is ready to show you her gorgeous project! Hop along to all 20 of the Global Artisan Stampin' Up! Design Team as we showcase some new products in the 2017-18 Annual Catalog.
