Welcome to the third Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop designed to inspire you in some fun and different themes all the while learning the in and outs of blog hopping. This month we are looking at ways to create projects simply using only paper, ink and stamps.
Each blogger will give you their ideas on how to make
SIMPLE turn into STUNNING.
My classic style is the definition of simple.
Many of my cards is a stamped image water coloured on paper using markers or ink. Sometimes with a pop of colour here or there.
Since many of my cards are already simple, I look for ways to give my cards an extra something such as the glitter and sequins shown above or the the popped off ornament.
1. Glitter: // Add sparkle whenever and wherever you can.
2. Pearls: // Add pearls to the image itself or to the outskirts. I love using pearls on floral cards.
3. Sequins: // I often add three sequins in varying shapes on the card.
4. Pop Up an Image: // Pop off a hat, a flower or an ornament like I did above.
5. Rhinestones: // Add rhinestones to cupcakes, the night sky or an ornament.
6.
Fine Tip Glue Pen: // Add the fine tip glue to make shiny objects (or eye balls) pop! You can also make bubbles for fish or little bumps on flower creating cool texture.
7.
Skinny Border: // Add the skinniest border about 1/8" giving a skinny frame.
8.
Pop Up a Layer: // Add dimensional foam to pop off a layer.
9.
Watercolour a background: // Create depth by watercoloring some shade - whether that be under an image's feet or the background layer.
10.
Patterned Paper: // Add patterned paper to bring your card to a Wow.
And last but not least...
11.
Outline Your Colouring: // If you've been colouring then outline the outside edge of your image. In the card above, I used the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend marker to outline the outsides. This gives it depth and makes images pop off the card.
Thanks for taking the time to drop by today! Be sure to hop along to my Canadian friend,
Carolynn Sander. She's pretty amazing so be prepared to be blown away.
