Always add a Santa hat | Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

I can feel it in the air now.
Yesterday we had a little dusting of snow.
And my first Holiday Party is this weekend.
Naturally my craft room has been an explosion of Christmas for some time now.

With all my holiday prep, I started to put this little Santa hat on all the little stamped critters and images. I just can't help myself - almost any critter is adorable with a Santa hat!

This little cutie came from the Color Me Happy stamp set, which was released when the Stampin' Blends came out.

Of course like most birds and cats, they've gotten themselves into a tangled mess of baker's twine.
Pretty much exactly how my brain feels every morning.

Thanks for popping by! Next in this Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop is Dani, whom always amazes me.  I've been so lucky to share these blog hops with these ladies as their talent and creativity blow me away each and every time.

Happy Birthday Carolynn! | Stampin' Up! Display Stamper Blog Hop Day Seven

Happy Sunday!

Welcome back to Day 7, the final day of a week long blog hop bringing together 20 Display Stampers around the world.  A "Display Stamper" is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator that is sent product from a future catalogue in order to create projects for large display boards to inspire those at a Stampin' Up! event.

Over the course of this week long blog hop, we will each show you projects that we created for those display boards in the respective regions for OnStage events around the globe.  My projects were displayed in the only North American event in Salt Lake City. Keep in mind that these projects showcase products that will not be available until January 3, 2018 in the Stampin' Up! Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues.

If you'd like to see all of my projects that were on display at the Stampin' Up! OnStage event in Salt Lake City in November 2017 be sure to check out this link.

It's a birthday wand.
Something I make a lot of.
Today is my friend, Carolynn Sander's birthday.
And she's pretty special. I'll tell you why. It's because she has the kind of happy sparkle in her eyes. She loves her friends. And she loves Stampin' Up! She certainly has a way to make people feel special. And well. I like to surround myself with people like that.
So - "Happy Birthday" to Carolynn.
And yes, she's a Display Stamper too so here's my hint to send her some serious love - especially if she's ever made you feel special.
Happy Birthday sweet pea and thanks for the support over the past year! Mwah!

And every birthday wand should come complete with a gorgeous card.

Both of these projects are made of the new paper trim, as well as the foiled Painted with Love Designer Series Paper.

As you can see the products that will be released on January 3rd in the new Salebration and Occasions catalogues are amazing. I can't wait for you to get your hands on these items!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to hop along with us. Your time is pretty valuable so I can't tell you how much it means to me.  In the mean time - I hope you had an amazing weekend especially in the United States for their Thanksgiving weekend.

Keep hopping along to Diane Browning and be sure to check out all 20 of the display stampers!
Love,
Cathy

all about the black and white paper | Stampin' Up! Display Stamper Blog Hop Day Five

Hi. Hi. Hi.
Happppyyyy Fri-yayyyyy!

Welcome back to Day 5 of a week long blog hop bringing together 20 Display Stampers around the world.  A "Display Stamper" is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator that is sent product from a future catalogue in order to create projects for large display boards to inspire those at a Stampin' Up! event.

Here's the thing.
I like black and white.
With a pop of colour or sparkle or whatever.
This paper is black and white and just the best,
It's the Petal Palette Designer Series Paper so put it on your wish list.

And because I love to layer and tie ribbons and trims together like a Ribbon Ninja...
... I just dare you to even open this gift using the 2" cellophane bags.
Its too cute.
And you know it.

It's kind of like my Artisan Box...
You just can't open it even though there's Tiffany inside. Tiffany might be cool but that box...
Well, that's perfection.

Right? Right.

Keep hopping along to Diane Browning and be sure to check out all 20 of the display stampers!
Love,
Cathy

"I just love you." | Stampin' Up! Display Stamper Blog Hop Day Four

Hi all!

Welcome back to Day 4 of a week long blog hop bringing together 20 Display Stampers around the world.

On Day One, I showed you a card where I coloured a floral design from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper using Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. Today I am showing you a similar design; however, I stamped the floral images and then coloured them with the Blends.

The beautiful sentiments come from the Perennial Birthday stamp set. In my mind, the Perennial Birthday and the Petal Passion stamp sets come together beautifully.

My second project for today's hop is a scrapbook page.  I scrapbook in 8.5x11" so this is the perfect size for me.  The paper has beautiful foiled accents and brought in the colours of the photos perfectly. Once available this Painted With Love Designer Series Paper is certainly a must have item!!!

Scrapbooking is mostly about the stories for me - Because of the limits on display stamping I couldn't tell his story on this page.  However, it was a summer day and he had just gotten out of the pool.  I held this little nugget tight and he decided to stay there for close to an hour.  It might be one of the last times I get to do that so I think I'll hold on to this memory pretty tightly.

"I just love you."
That is exactly how I felt.
"I just love you."

Keep hopping along to Diane Browning and be sure to check out all 20 of the display stampers!
Love,
Cathy

Sweet Little Something | Stampin' Up! Display Stamper Blog Hop Day Three

Well, hello again my new and old friends!

Welcome back to Day 3 of a week long blog hop bringing together 20 Display Stampers around the world.

I was floored when I first played with this three step stamp on how realistic this stamp appeared. Unless you see this image in real life you might never catch the true dimension and realism. I have fallen in love with this little guy as she looks exactly like my daughter's Jellycat.  I am sure many of you know exactly what I am talking about.

A Jellycat is a sweet floppy eared bunny - the traditional toddler soother.
And now we all fall in love.
Perhaps this stamp might be perfect for your "sweet little somebunny".

I couldn't stop at just one so I continued creating with this stamp and made a shaker card with the newest oversized glitter flakes.

The little doilies work perfectly on the largest Circle Die from Stampin' Up! I love how you can get this soft border around the circle.

Hope you enjoyed today's projects! Keep hopping along to Diane Browning and be sure to check out all 20 of the display stampers!

Love,
Cathy

Simple is Stunning | Lets Get Hopping Blog Hop

Welcome to the third Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop designed to inspire you in some fun and different themes all the while learning the in and outs of blog hopping. This month we are looking at ways to create projects simply using only paper, ink and stamps.

Each blogger will give you their ideas on how to make
SIMPLE turn into STUNNING.

My classic style is the definition of simple.
Many of my cards is a stamped image water coloured on paper using markers or ink. Sometimes with a pop of colour here or there.

Since many of my cards are already simple, I look for ways to give my cards an extra something such as the glitter and sequins shown above or the the popped off ornament.

1. Glitter: // Add sparkle whenever and wherever you can.
2. Pearls: // Add pearls to the image itself or to the outskirts. I love using pearls on floral cards.
3. Sequins: // I often add three sequins in varying shapes on the card.
4. Pop Up an Image: // Pop off a hat, a flower or an ornament like I did above.
5. Rhinestones: // Add rhinestones to cupcakes, the night sky or an ornament.

6. Fine Tip Glue Pen: // Add the fine tip glue to make shiny objects (or eye balls) pop! You can also make bubbles for fish or little bumps on flower creating cool texture.
7. Skinny Border: // Add the skinniest border about 1/8" giving a skinny frame.
8. Pop Up a Layer: // Add dimensional foam to pop off a layer.
9. Watercolour a background: // Create depth by watercoloring some shade - whether that be under an image's feet or the background layer.
10. Patterned Paper: // Add patterned paper to bring your card to a Wow.

And last but not least...

11. Outline Your Colouring: // If you've been colouring then outline the outside edge of your image. In the card above, I used the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend marker to outline the outsides.  This gives it depth and makes images pop off the card.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by today! Be sure to hop along to my Canadian friend, Carolynn Sander. She's pretty amazing so be prepared to be blown away.

Cathy
