Always add a Santa hat | Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

I can feel it in the air now.
Yesterday we had a little dusting of snow.
And my first Holiday Party is this weekend.
Naturally my craft room has been an explosion of Christmas for some time now.

With all my holiday prep, I started to put this little Santa hat on all the little stamped critters and images. I just can't help myself - almost any critter is adorable with a Santa hat!

This little cutie came from the Color Me Happy stamp set, which was released when the Stampin' Blends came out.

Of course like most birds and cats, they've gotten themselves into a tangled mess of baker's twine.
Pretty much exactly how my brain feels every morning.

Thanks for popping by! Next in this Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop is Dani, whom always amazes me.  I've been so lucky to share these blog hops with these ladies as their talent and creativity blow me away each and every time.

Colouring on Kraft | Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team Hop

Hi all! Welcome to November!!

Today is the day that Stampin' Up! has released Stampin' Blends!! Stampin’ Up!’s new premier alcohol markers, Stampin’ Blends are high-quality, dual-tip markers that come in 12 of Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive colors, each with a light and dark shade. Maybe you don’t think of yourself as an artist, but you don’t need to be because these markers make it super easy to blend colors and create gorgeous works of art!

For today's project, I wanted to see how the markers did on kraft paper using the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set. While it isn't perfect, it was fun to play with. In fact, I'd suggest using a primer before you colour. Regardless, in this project I did not use anything special. To create the boughs and ribbon, I used a combination of Pink Piroutte, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive

To add some dimension I created some shadows with Pink Pirouette on the outside of the stamped image.  In addition, I used my Stampin' White Chalk Marker to create those tiny dots!

I hope this encourages you to try your alcohol markers on different colours of paper.

Thanks for hanging out with us today.  We know that your time is valuable so thank you for making us part of your day.  Let's see what Dani has made using the Stampin' Blends!
