'You've Got this' paper piecing | #tgifc05

I am back with another TGIF challenge!

And believe me, thank goodness it's Friday for "realsies".  I am off to a Stampin' Up! scrapbook/card making retreat.  Make sure to follow along on Facebook as I show you sneaks of what I am up to!

We've been bringing you challenges all month so this week, the challenge is to use two of the four challenges.  I used the week two sketch #tgifc02 and the flower inspiration #tgif04 from last month!

This card came together rather quickly.  I decided to play with some watercoloring.  For those wondering how to do that in the Stampin' Up! world, simply take your refill ink and drop a couple drops onto a kraft mat.  Add water.  Use a brush or aqua paper to apply to your paper.  Dry with a heat gun.  So easy and effective.

I also did paper piecing - remember that? I stamped using versamark on the new watermelon wonder paper "I'm here for you".  I did this multiple times and then I stamped the gorgeous flower from the "You've got this"stamp set (coming to you in the new catalog).

The stem and yellow paper pieces come from the Cherry on Top 6x6 paper pad... also coming to you on June 2nd!

Make sure to play along with us this month as James is celebrating with a giveaway!

greeting thinlits | Fancy Friday

We are back again with another Fancy Friday!
(why aren't my kids in bed?)

It's the time of the month when I join up with some of my favorite stampers in the whole world. I love them.  I really do.  We still talk and I can't imagine them not being part of my week.
(will my husband please at least get the pajamas on?)

Because I procrastinated again I had to throw this card together very fast.  Lighting speed.  Like a bullet.  But it wasn't hard because Jen Timko must had made this sketch with me in mind.
(obviously every time she sits to create a sketch she thinks 'what would Cathy love?')

Here's the sketch she put together.  Why do I like it?  Well, its clean. It's simple.  And I am willing to bet that anyone that uses it will make a beautiful card with minimal effort.
(Times are tough here.  My daughter has no clothes on and my son is playing with about a dozen packages of fruit snacks... moving them from hiding spot to hiding spot.  No. No... He wont be eating them... don't you know its bed time?)

All the products I used are from the new catalog.... to come out on June 2nd!  I was so excited to use the new greetings thinlits that I cut out some of those before I even thought about the sketch.  Then I realized how perfect they would be!!  The background paper comes from the Cherry on Top 6x6 Designer Series paper stack.
(my kids are driving me crazy.)

Last month, I did a giveaway!
Congrats to Rhea Skomoroski for winning the gift card thinlit!
Email me to receive your prize!
(it's time. Bedtime that is.)

You are going to love this hop and you are going to love this catalog so keep hopping to Cindy!

Cheers!

Not pictured above: potty that found its way outside (parenting101)

Ali Edwards uses her blog as a place holder for her stories. Brilliant.

[Eating] strawberries by the bucket loads. jack is loving cereal but creates large milk puddles. jane won't drink milk. we are eating all of our meals at the table. jack is still standing on his chair half the time. we negotiate with jane to eat her supper. kid favourites are still spaghetti. mom is eating too much candy. dad is off red meat. pork chops and chicken on the BBQ.

pic above: a touton (fried dough) with bologna, egg and cheese

[Doing] soccer season has begun but the wind has also arrived. enjoying the sun. attending birthday parties. playing with kinetic sand.  going through the kids clothes and gutting the closets. fundraising challenge cup soccer. cleaning the fish tank. creating stampin' up projects for the new catalog. we are on again off again potty training jack. wearing sweaters.

pic above: inviting LavRock chairs where I spent a weekend scrapbooking

[Saying] the big story is jack has finally begun talking. he makes more sense and he repeating what we say. he likes to return items to whomever owns them. jack used to be a "no" man but he's finally saying "yes" with enthusiasm.

Christmas Project Life (TM) sneak

[Feeling] re-energized. relief. "good to be alive" at the sight of the sun. excited to spend more time outside. lucky.

Isn't this the picture of "re-energize"?

Boom. Bed Time.

Monday Refresh | 05.25.2015

monday refresh, n [def]:
To revigorate or renew on a Monday. To give new energy or strength on a Monday.

(On Monday mornings, I like to clean out my purse, prepare my to do list, make a meal plan and start new. Organize. Declutter. Simplify. My ambitions for the year. Let's do this.)

1. Schedules to be updated into my fancy new 2015-16 agenda.

2. Outside cleaning. Lawn must be mowed. (heck. pay gardeners.)

3. Resist late night snacks. (except for Friday and Saturday while I am away, right?)

4. Pick out paint for bathrooms.

5. Clean the fish tank. (yuck)

What's you five refreshers this week? What's your routines?

Dude Tags | Project #4 for My Pumpkin Challenge Let's Hear it For the Bows

Welcome back to another project for the My Pumpkin Challenge Blog!

These are simple and come straight from the April 2015 My Paper Pumpkin kit.
(yes, yes - I ripped the bow slightly but that won't stop me from giving it away!)
This kit came with several bows but they looked like bowties to me so I went for it.

Cool, Dude?
(And the best part? It's beyond easy!)

Have a crafty day!

"Thats a lot of gold glitter" | TGIF03

Welcome to another TGIF challenge!

This week your challenge is graduation!
(I love how the challenges are mixed up.  It keeps me on my toes!)

"... that's a lot of gold glitter paper"

The card was created by using a black yardstick cardstock (that is a hilarious autocorrect) base.  Sorry, no yardsticks were used to create this card.  Gold glimmer paper was adhered for the bottom of the card.  I embossed Congrats in gold from the Stampin' Up! Bravo stamp set.  This was also used to create the flag in my centre piece. And finally I added some fun gold embellishments.

This box was created using the gift box punch board.  I created a belly band with gold glimmer paper and black cardstock.  I created the hassle with gold baker's twine.

You have until Wednesday, May 20th to link up and play along!
Come join the fun!

Baby Shower Elephant Chocolate Bars | My Digital Studio

Awhile back, I was playing with My Digital Studio in order to create these chocolate bar covers for a baby shower.

It makes me so sad that My Digital Studio with be gone... mostly because I have all kinds of graphics and now I have to learn to use a new program..

I ain't got time for that!

Regardless, have a wonderful day dreaming about chocolate bars!

Alcohol Inks | Classes at the Paperie

I am so very lucky to have a local scrapbooking store.
Not only that they hold classes.
Real life classes.
Come visit The Paperie!

And the instructors are phenomenal!

These two layouts are from a monthly class that is instructed by Sara Case-Strickland called My Favourite Things. This particular month, she used alcohol inks, masks and embellishments.

Although the layouts aren't exact, the techniques and the inspiration comes from her!

(Sorry, these layouts are a little smaller due to the content. My apologies)

a simple thanks | #TGIFc01

hi friends!
happy friday!
(I like the look of the "hs" little... don't get mad. I know the difference.)

I am so excited to be part of a new challenge blog called TGIF Challenges.  Every Friday, challenges will be released and you have a week to link up.  It's meant to inspire you to go outside your little box. No street allowed.

Our first challenge is a colour challenge. I struggled with this but I counted on my "pop of colour" to get me through.  And you can too!

Have a great day and make sure to play along!
