Shake it Up! | Fancy Friday Blog Hop


It's 2020 and the Stampin' Up! past and current Artisans are back to bring you inspiration using current Stampin' Up! projects. Each month we currate a theme and this growing group of over 40 uber talented Creatives try to come up with a project. This month we are "shaking it up".


This Shaker Card project uses the Stitched Stars dies, irridescent sequins and Birthday Goodness stamp set. Did you pick up on the little stars amongst the sequins? Yup, they are the negatives from the swirly star die cut!


Now, have you been wondering I've been? Well, you likely remember I've been growing a baby - She finally arrived on January 23, 2020 weighing 7lb 12 oz and measuring 50cm. I am totally smitten and she's fitting in with our crazy family of five. I am working hard to find a new routine... and also space for all the "things" that comes with babies.



Things are changing in the Stampin' Fancy Friday world. This will be our last blog hop. Awwww but not to worry we are still around to give you inspiration. Instead of blogging we will be posting our projects to Instagram only, as well as individual social accounts like Facebook. We think the world is evolving and so should we!  So be sure to follow the Stampin' Fancy Friday Instagram Account @stampinfancyfriday to sure you don't miss out next month's projects!

A Blue Christmas | Fancy Friday Blog Hop


Oh my. You are in for a treat today! The Stampin' Up! past and current Artisans are back with a blue Christmas and holiday season.


Believe it or not, I feel like I am just about done my holiday shopping, which means that I am ready to rock and roll with the wrapping. I love, love, love using all the trims that Stampin' Up! has for us. When thinking aout packaging its only easy to pick out some gorgeous paper and then wrapped our trims around it.

This is a package of 4 cards in our acetate box. I typically give packs of cards out for Christmas and the acetate boxes are perfect for this. Using some extra trims on the top make it ready to unwrap!


Packaging isn't the only thing our trims and ribbons compliment well though. Consider adding some ribbon to key chains, ornaments, hair ties, etc.


Marisa Gunn is up next - I can't wait to see what she has created!

Those Penguins. | Fancy Friday Blog Hop



Another month has went by and I am back with the absolute best creative team as everyone in this blog hop is either past or current Stampin' Up! Artisan. This month we are testing our creativity limits by mixing and matching the annual and holiday catalogues.

My card is different for me as I am using a black background to bring out the penguin design. If you take a close look you can see I'veused two embossing folders from the annual catalogue: Woven Heirlooms and the Brick and Mortar 3D folder.

And of course, the penguins come from the Playful Penguins stamp set in the holiday catalogue!

I love this holiday catalogue and I just love these penguins. There's so much that these guys can do!!

You are in for a treat now as I always love Krista Frattin's style and I am certain you do too. She's up next so check it out!

Fancy Floral with Bloom and Grow | Fancy Friday Blog Hop


Well, well, well.
At 23 weeks pregnant I am finally feeling well enough to get crafting.
I am so excited to be back with the rest of the Fancy Friday team.
Seriously though.
You can't get any better talent then this team when it comes to Stampin' Up! as each and everyone of these ladies are either a current or past Artisan Design Team Member.
I don't always love florals but I am totally in love with the Bloom and Grow stamp set. Not only that but I am inspired completely by a card in the catalogue which shows a similar design. I am a big believer in not re-inventing the wheel! Start with inspiration and make it your own!

And out popped this when I was all done!!


I also cased the catalogue yesterday from page 156 in the catalogue - I created this card using the same stamp set. See.... I told you I was obssessed!

For the Family | Fancy Friday Blog Hop


"For the Family".
Man.
That's a big one.
Its really all about family, isn't it? Specially in this paper crafting and memory keeping world.
I love celebrating anything and everything.
Birthdays are no different.
So, cheers to our families.
Because we love them so.

I am so thankful to be art of this Fancy Friday team. These ladies are incredible!

This little bear is retiring and I'll be sad to see him go. These stamps will definitely remain in my collection as I will use them for many years to come in projects such as this. A simple water colouring project with Stampin' Up! markers and an aqua painter.

Be sure to always use varying pop dots for adhesives when dealing with balloons to get that awesome dimension.

Follow Your Dreams | Fancy Friday Blog Hop


Welcome back to our monthly Fancy Friday Blog Hop where you'll find current and past Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team members show you different ways that we inspire ourselves and each other.  This month we are doing a colour challenge based on the photo below.


Yes.
Wow.
That colour combo is wild.
But totally cool.
So I really started by looking at the photo rather than the colour splashes.
By looking at the photo I was inspired to use different textures that I would describe as Bohemian.
I used the Stampin' Up! Vintage Lace Trim as a background and then began layering from there.

Do you recognize that stamp set and die cuts?
You can find that in the Follow Your Dreams Bundle.
Pretty cool, isn't it?


If you are caught in the mess of textures here, you'll find a distressed piece of Blackberry Bliss embossed using the Tin Tile Embossing folder. Followed by several layers of stamped cardstock, die cuts and vellum. There's sequins and brads and even linen thread.

It's a whole lot of stuff that I quite like.
And let's be honest here, this is very much outside my simple style.
Soooo, this "challenge" did its job.

Meet Mr. Dragon Pants Face. | Fancy Friday Blog Hop


There he is.
Mr. Dragon Pants Face.
Giving you the stink eye.
A face... oh so perfect for a birthday card.
Wouldn't you say?

Today's project was created for the Fancy Friday Blog Hop team. 
This is a team of current and past Stampin' Up! Artisans so it's safe to say that every month you are in for a real treat. Each month we come up with a theme to help inspire ourselves and all of our stamping communities.  Thanks to Krista Frattin for designing today's colour challenge logo!

PROJECT DETAILS://

Back to that face.
Mr. Dragon Pants Face guy comes from the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper.  All I did was cut him out.
Of course, the background of the card is a little more tangly.
First, I applied the Stampin' Up! embossing paste through the brick mask onto watercolour paper. After it dried (or not. more like I didn't want to wait for it to dry.)
...As I was saying, after it dried, I used my emerald envy reinker and an aqua painter to apply some colour to the background. I dropped a couple specks on to the surface as well to look like rain drops.
After it dried... I really dried it this time with a heat gun.
Then it was a "bit of this and a bit of that".

Oh. You noticed the ballon. I cut that sucker right off the one of those Party Pandas (an exclusive Sale-a-Bration stamp set). I cut the twirly whirly string too. I glued it all together and got perfection!


Inside the card, I continued the wording from the sentiment stamp set and added a knight (to fight off the dragon, of course) found in the Magical Day stamp set which I had previously coloured using my Stampin' Up! Blends.

Mail a Card Monday | Fancy Friday Blog Hop

OK.
That's one stamp.
No special tricks.
I inked it and I stamped it.
It came out perfectly.
Apparently it's a new type of stamp called 'DISTINKTIVE' where it gives more depth and dimension by inking parts of the space with less and more opacity.
Am I misunderstanding? Do tell me.

Today's projects were created for the Fancy Friday Blog Hop team. This is a team of current and past Stampin' Up! Artisans so you can imagine that every month you are in for a real treat. Each month we come up with a theme to help inspire ourselves and all of our stamping communities. We are bringing you inspiration this month to mail a card every month with matching envelopes.

PROJECT DETAILS

My projects use the Heartfelt Blooms exclusive Sale-A-Bration stamp set.
So, if you like what you see then you'll have to snag this bad boy before March 31st.

In my project above I stamped the flower image on vellum.  It takes a few minutes to dry but its always a cool effect. I fuzzy cut around the edges and clustered some trims and ribbons under and over the image.  Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set to create this thank you card that's mailable and ready to go in it's matching envelope.


Here's another simple project showing this stamp set and how easy it can be to create an easy card along with a matching envelope.
