Card of the Week #002

Oops. It's Tuesday.  I truly forgot that today was Tuesday.

Wow.

Nonetheless, the Card of the Week this week comes for the June Paper Pumpkin.  If you aren't a subscriber than think about the techniques and apply it to your own designs! Check out the Card of the Week Page.

What you'll need:
  • Whisper White cardstock and some patterned paper as you desire (use your scraps!)
  • SU champagne glass glitter
  • sentiments stamp set
  • background stamp set
  • vellum
  • hexagon punch
  • versamark
  • heat and stick powder
  • Bermuda Bay ink or any ink of your choice - Archival is best
  • black journalling pen
  • dimensional and tape runner adhesives
  • heat gun

How to do it yourself:
1. Cut your whisper white cardstock 8 1/2" by 5"5". Score in the middle
2. Punch out 3 to 5 hexagons on the front of your card (whisper white cardstock).  Punch out additional hexagons (6-7) from your patterned paper.
3. Stamp the background stamp with your ink on the vellum.  Let dry for a few minutes if its not archival. Adher to the back of the front of your card using dimensionals. (Love it already?)
4. Grab 2-3 of your punched hexagons. Apply versamark either directly onto the hexagon or use a background stamp.Shake the heat and stick powder over the cut outs.  Using your heat gun heat it up so it gets sticky.  Take the champagne glitter glass and shake over the cut out. Use the heat gun on it a second time.  Voila! It will never move!
5. Taking your remaining patterned paper hexagons and your glittered hexagons, just play around moving the shapes on your card until you find a pattern that you like best.  Adher with your tape runner.
6. Grab your sentiments stamp and apply.
7. For an extra "pop", trace your shapes with the black journalling pen.
So, what have I been up to?  Honestly, what haven't I been up to?

I am getting ready to create a banner for an Anniversary party. I am providing samples to a couple brides on invitations and save the dates.  I am designing centerpieces, display tables, etc for weddings. I've also been getting swap cards ready for convention.

My Stampin' Up order had the new containers to store my wood mount stamps... OH MY!! Lovin' them! I have them for my singles stamps, paper pumpkin stamps, as well as my old wood mount sets. Here's how I stored them before:

And here's the new containers!!
I have also been getting rid of the old and making room for the new. I am making packages for my buddies across the island... and look at the cute stamp I found in the new Sweetly Framed.  The best is that its a hostess set.  Seriously, these hostess sets (Morning Meadow, Simply Sketched, etc... are 100% my style).
How great is my Vanna White?
