Love Birds

I saw the Photo Challenge by Hand Stamped Sentiments and I thought, wow that's an amazing photo.  But I didn't quite have time to do anything.  Until someone asked me to do an anniversary gift... and the image popped up again.
Don't you love the inspiration? You have until January 13th to join in the fun! Here's what I came up with:
I actually created my own "dictionary" paper - I think that the Adele (originally by the Cure) Love Story lyrics are gorgeous and so I got those lyrics and repeated it on whisper white paper.

Then I found this Spooky Tree .svg image from My Digital Studio called Spooky Bits. Thanks to Erica Cerwin who has engrained that image in my head!!  I imported that into my Silhouette Cameo and cut it out - but not before "mirror-ing" the image.  To do so all you have to do is right click your image and hit "flip horizontally".  I did the same with the love birds by importing the 'Birds of a Feather' image.  I mirrored one of them so that the birds were facing each other.  But in hindsight I just needed to turn my die cut... (stunned?!?). Here it is up close:
I also got another hand made card in the mail today from a wonderful friend of mine, Rexene Lockyer of From the Heart, Rexene's Memories.  The Snow Much Fun stamp set will forever be one of my favorite sets despite that its retired. ;)
Happy Snow Days wherever you are!
Cheers!
Cathy

  3. So gorgeous! I love that digital cutting opens the world so wide for new ideas! I love the lyrics on the tree. And you know, I had to think for a sec when you said you only had to flip the bird (excuse the expression). LOL, sometimes we take the long way around! Thanks for playing at HSS ~ Erika
