Artisan Wednesday Wow: Burlap covered canvas

Wow.  Its been a BIG day here in the Caines' household.

Mr. Man had his first haircut.  He also discovered that "pointing" is Uber-Fun. And for the first time he was tugging on my leg and standing.  Ahhh, I love that.  He's so proud of standing and moving now.

So, its a day of firsts.

And doesn't that make us all so thankful?

I thought I'd document that.

Can't see the details...
("you gotta see the details kiddos")
The rosettes are made from the burlap ribbon and the cotton trim!! If you don't know how to make these rosettes, see my post here. And honestly, who can get enough of that gold foil and expressions thinlits.  I felt like I robbed my daughter's kiddy bank when I took the mini clothespin out of the Tag a Bag Kit... :)
How'd I do that? Well, I thought I'd do a canvas of some sort at first but I was inspired by the stamp sets sitting in front of me.  And the burlap that continues to be strewn around my house.  All I did was layer the burlap over the canvas and staple in the back.  Super easy.

You might be wondering where that gold doily came from.  Well, I broke out my gold ink pad and soaked it up.  Usually I would use gold embossing powder on top of it but for these purposes I didn't think it needed it.
I used the Tablescapes Kit for the pieces in behind the photo.  Seriously.  The paper in this kit is super awesome. I literally scrunched it up in my fist to distress them. F.U.N.
Well, there's lots more of this hop left and I can't wait to see what everyone has in store.  Check out Cindy next!
