In The Cat Cave

This post is long overdue!!

I am just having hard luck with the flu... those kids are just germ magnets! And I get the worse of it!

So, I have been doing a beginner quilting course... see what I did this week? I have 6 blocks done! Although that doesn't seem to be the hard part. As part of my homework last week, I had to play with m sewing machine.  And play I did! I did a "latchy catchy" for my sister but I also did lots of stitching on a layout.  I started this layout awhile ago but just creating the square of photos (a collage of three photos).  I also found the paper that I like - this was Jillibean Soup all over! Its such a fun photo! I didn't follow a sketch, just had some fun with it.

On this layout, I practicalle sewed everything on including paper and ribbon.  Also, the yellow circles were made from JB soup paper but punched using several Stampin' Up punches.

Supplies Used (all Jilibean Soup unless stated): Talk Soup, red corrugated alphas, canvas flowers, summer squash soup paper, chicken noodle soup paper, alphabeans, bean stalks, Stampin Up circle punches, chilled strawberry soup cardstock stickers, and Stampin Up buttons

I also have a few other projects that I did manage to complete.  My scrappy friends and I do a "Same But Different" challenge every month.  This means that someone sends us the same material and we create a layout using it.  Here's the materials we were given:
God love Susan Byrne for sending the materials but lordy it was not tickling my fancy... I managed to alter a lot and I really love how it turned out... but for the moment I cannot reveal the results.  Here's a sneak!
Since I had my paints out, I quickly grabbed a 12x12 black cardstock and whipped some white gesso on this... It now sits on my desk waiting for my inspiration to take hold of it.  Stay tuned!!
I also did a course this weekend with Sara Strickland Case - It is a card organizer. I absolutely adore this idea.  Every month there is a list of birthdays or events that you might want to remember.  When you have those completed, you just put the cards in the envelopes and you are all organized when the day arrives!  We  bound the chipboard covers with the carta bella paper to create the organizer. We also made four cards with the scraps.  Love it!
 
I have lots to come - valentines, anniversary and birthday cards. I also am partnering up with a lady for My Steeped Tea - I'll be creating some items for a bridal show. Hopefully I'll post on Tuesday for that!
