In The Cat Cave

Hey, Hey!

I've been thinking about this for awhile and I finally realized that if there's any time to do 30 days of scrap now is the time!! So here's my rationale -

1.  I am expecting my second child in November and I simply might not have the time I really want to dedicate to my paper projects!

2. To catch up!

3. To use my supplies... (will this be an excuse to buy more?)

4. I am going on vacation on Sept 5th so it will lead me right up to Sept 4th! (Too perfect for words?)

So, to start my personal challenge off I decided to go to my favorite websites and blogs for some inspiration! Since the Mid Week Mojo contest is due tonight I figured I should start there.  And when I saw Jenn's sketch I knew EXACTLY what pictures to use in my stash. These pictures are 3 of about 10 of the same type... they just CRACK me up because taking pictures of these two cousins (17 mths and 33 mths) is impossible.  So, this layout just kick started my mojo!!  If I have time I might try Pearl 4B tonight but nothing is coming to mind at the moment. Hi all,

Leave it to pagemaps to really kick start my creativity!!  I am so lucky to be blessed with another child on the way - due in November!! However, he (yes, its a boy!) really took me off my feet! I am only now getting back into the swing of things.  I've challenged myself to 30 days of sketch (of which this layout is not included because I did it a couple days ago)... beginning tonight I'll do 30 days of paper projects until Sept 4th!! Stay tuned!

In the mean time, here's another gorgeous layout!! I started thinking of using three picture like the sketch shows but the pictures weren't working and in the end... this is what I loved.

And here's my take using MME, Authentique and FancyPants Oct 31 background paper.  As always my papges have American Crafts thickers, as well as coordinating AC buttons in the corner.  Some journalling in the corner to detail the milestones of my 10 mth old (at the time)... By the way, its exceptionally hard to get a picture of your infant's first tooth!!

heres my take on Amethyst 5... I took it differently than most folks, I would say. Its a bit of a funner layout although my journaling is quite serious.  I am sad that I decided to stamp in the top left an dbottom right corners and then use dazzling details... but I thought it would be worse if I tried to cover it.  It turned out pretty good considering I really only use white, black and red. a tad of tan in there! LOL

Here's my take:

As always another beautiful Becky sketch.  This time, I never put any journalling... very strange for me as thats what I love about the photos but the pictures just crack me up and that's all you need. Little bit of everything in here, MME Mischievous paper and SU paper, brads, hate pins and punches. Of course, AC thickers... I cannot live without. The SU doily sizzlet is in behind the chipboard. It didn't quite go with the pics so it looks nice in the cluster.

Here's my take.  I replaced the journalling area for another pic. The colors were extremely hard to match so once I finally found some paper I liked, I decided to create a border using twine and brads in the corners instead of using another paper 12x12. Worked out ok. I would have liked some yellow and/or orange Mr. Hueys but I sadly didn't have any. Imagine!

I sat down last night and took at peek at the amethyst layout from http://www.scrapbooksteals.com/  and this picture just jumped at me.  It is such a funny picture.  I decided to do this layout purely stampin up with exception to my fav thickers.. gotta love it.

I am in love with the colors in this - it turns out I never use this color blue and it just "jumps" off the page. Mr Hueys mist is awesome... Love!
