But I have to tell you that I have a soft spot for the beautiful large snowflake.

My second project does not include the Snowflake Thinlets to prove to you that you don't need them to make a stunning project. This simple card is 4"x7" in size and the bottom shows the new Velveteen Speciality Paper. It's so soft and lovely - just like there's a layer of snow on the card!

In April of this year my mom asked me to open a credit card to pay for flight tickets. It was supposed to be no more than $700. She said she would pay it off in 2 months. Fast forward 4 months later and my mom sends me a message saying that she accidentally paid the card late that month but she will pay once she gets her next check. Up until this point I’ve never looked at the account because I had no reason to.
ReplyDeleteWhen she told me that I decided to log on and pay off the rest of what she owed because I had some extra money. When I opened the account, I was very shocked to see that she owed over $1,800. I did notice that I kept receiving emails that my credit score was dropping, but I didn’t pay much attention to it . I am a longtime authorized user on one of my mom’s credit cards, and it normally changes based on her activity. Upon further research, I noticed it was significantly dropping because of this card. I got scared because I am in medical school and I’m going to eventually need my credit score for private loans during the third year when I can no longer get money from the government.
To make a long story short, I told her that she didn’t have to worry about paying it anymore because I will take it over. I did this because I had money to help out, and I thought it would be a kind thing to do since she was clearly struggling to pay it off. The only thing that I asked was for her not to continue using the card while I got the balance down. She immediately got defensive and it became a much bigger thing. She cut up the credit card and accused me of trying to hurt her. After that, I removed her from being an authorized user to prevent her from logging onto the account and paying the balance down with money I knew she didn’t have and keep her from unlocking her authorized card.
I am very new to credit, so I thought that removing her was simply removing her access to the account. Our relationship eventually repaired.
